“Street trees not only offer us a respite from the midday sun and make the sidewalks more beautiful, but their presence has proven to be good for our health,”

“New York City has lots of homes on tree-lined blocks. At Localize.city, we help New Yorkers find these homes by providing a filter for ‘tranquil streets’ that directs home hunters to the listings on leafy, quiet blocks.”
A study by Localize.city has revealed that Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, has the most street trees in NYC, with 5,783 trees per square mile. The analysis found that half of the top 10 neighborhoods with the most street trees were in Brooklyn, including Park Slope, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, and Ditmas Park. Floral Park in Queens and several Manhattan neighborhoods also made the top 10 list, which did not include any Bronx neighborhoods or Staten Island, due to the latter's trees being predominantly in front lawns. The study counted only city-maintained street trees and found that these trees can influence median home values. Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens had some of the highest median listing prices, while Ditmas Park had the lowest on the list. The presence of street trees is seen as beneficial for health and aesthetics, and Localize.city offers a filter to help home hunters find properties on leafy, quiet blocks.
